Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora

Your Marrakech to Erg Chigaga Morocco Sahara Desert tour will commence at 07:30 am. Our driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech, and we will start our journey towards the Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi En Tichka Pass. We will make a stop to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains and have some coffee to stretch your legs. Lunch will be served in Ouarzazate before we continue our journey to Zagora through the picturesque Draa Valley, known for its lush oasis and countless palm trees. Upon arrival in Zagora, you will have dinner and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 2: Zagora to Erg Chigaga

After breakfast in Zagora, we will continue our journey to M’hamid. On the way, we will pass by the village of Tamagroute, where we will visit the oldest Quranic libraries in Morocco, an underground kasbah, and a pottery factory. Lunch will be provided in M’hamid. In the early afternoon, we will depart for Erg Chigaga dunes, crossing various desert landscapes, including ‘Erg’, ‘Reg’, ‘Hammada’, and oases. The remote Erg Chigaga dunes are far away from civilization, offering a serene and quiet atmosphere. Day 3: Erg Chigaga to Ouarzazate

We will cross Lake Iriqui, pass by mountains and fossil areas, following the old track of the “Rally Paris Dakar” until we reach Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert. From there, we will continue to the Berber village of Taznakht, renowned for its Berber carpets and rugs. Then, we’ll proceed to Ouarzazate, where you will have a relaxing evening and dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Kasbah of Tourirte and the film studios located just outside Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa.” We will then explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a historic location featured in numerous Hollywood films, such as “Gladiator,” “Indiana Jones,” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” Continuing our desert tour, we will head back to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Lunch will be served in Ait Ben Haddou or in the Atlas Mountains along the way to Marrakech.
